The cattery of Prado Mellizo, is a family cattery specially dedicated to the Ragdoll and Maine Coon races, that arrived to Spain about 12 years ago.

This cattery, dedicates special attention to the cats that we breed. Our beginnings was due to the gift of my son of a pair of kitten one Ragdoll and another Maine Coon. When read the history of each races i felt in love of both of them. had to hwait almost two years to be able to my illusion and power to begin to breed with this little tigers.

We are located in the mountain range of Madrid, in the valley of the Lozoya, concretely in Rascafría, near of Peñalara Mountain.This is a special zone for the good coat of the kittens . Our cats coexist with us the time throughout, do not exist cages nor enclosures where they can have no danger, they pass many moments of the day in the garden, doing exercise and is reason why its character is so affectionate and kind with the people. Another of our system is not doing more than a bred

for year, so our female have time to rest betwen each bred. We have these wonderful races by the satisfaction to see as our animals live and make their functions of creation in optimal conditions, with all the guarantees of salubrity. Our clients are considered like friends, reason why we are always in contact with them and following our cattys to see their development and behavior.

Distance from Madrid: 94 km. Access by highway: A1 until Lozoyuela km 69 where the Lozoya/Rascafría highway is taken Access by bus: Continental Car, line to Rascafría from plaza catilla. Access by train : Line to the Port of Boundaries from Cercedilla. and soon to lower the port until Rascafría.

Rascafría, along with its attached Oteruelo, Alameda and Pinilla of the Valley, is nailed in highest of the Valley of the Lozoya, in the noroccidental part of the Community of Madrid, in the Mountain range of Guadarrama, a place of extraordinary beauty. The valley is whigth and cleared, located to about 1100 meters of altitude and delimited by two mountainous chains: northern, the dividing one between Madrid and Segovia, in the left margin of the Lozoya, extend from Boundaries to the Portachuelo de Navarredonda, with altitudes that oscillate between 1800 and 2200 meters and their made snow-white summits great part of the year. The passages to Segovia take place by the Ports of Boundaries, the Reventón, Malgosto and Navafría. All the towns of the High Valley are located in the left margin of the river, in the slope oriented to the south. The Council of Rascafría, with 150.30 kilometers square is the one of greater extension of the zone and includes/understands two population centers, Rascafría that are the Council head, and Oteruelo of the Valley. The Monastery of the Paular is located to 2 km from Rascafría. Its South limit runs by the Long Cord, in where the summits of Guarramillas, Valdemartín and the Head of Iron rise (2383 ms). To the north of these summits the river is born of the Narrowness that later takes the name from Lozoya. In him they spill numerous streams: by the right, the Guarramillas, the one of the Cerradillos, the one of the Males and the one of the Najarra, that arrives at the river through deep throats; by the left it emphasizes the stream of the Shade that, coming from Peñalara, gathers waters of streams of the Pedriza, the Berezal, the one of the Birds, etc. To numerous streams and torrenteras it is necessary to add to the lagoons glaciers of Peñalara, the Five Lagoons and of the Birds. The territory, of high landscaping value, is gorgeous, being populated with thick forests of oaks and pine groves that alternate with meadows. Between these natural places the Cave of the Moor, located in the stream of the Cachinillas can be emphasized, that constitutes an interesting and colorful place. The fauna rich and is varied.
